Melissa Magargle, Executive Director
Melissa is married with two young girls. She is originally from Michigan and moved here in 1998 following her enlistment in the United States Air Force. While serving in the USAF she earned an Associates Degree in Computer Science. She received a Bachelor Degree in Human Services from Pennsylvania College of Technology. She also has a Mastor’s Degree in Human Services, Management of Non-Profits from Capella University. She has worked in a variety of helping fields including foster care case management and mental health and mental retardation.

Jenny Hull
Jenny is a Mother of two and a Grandmother of one. She and her husband Mark serve together at their church, where she is a part of the Worship Team. Jenny is a graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology with a degree in Human Services. She has worked in the Human Service field since 2007 with families and children with special needs.

MaryAnn Vance (President)
Mary Ann Vance retired after teaching physical education for 31 years in the Williamsport Area School District. She has been an active church volunteer and leader for many years. Her participation in Family Promise of Lycoming County began as part of the core committee that was formed to develop the network. She has served as a church coordinator and office angel coordinator for Family Promise. She has been on the Board of Directors for one year, and serves as president of the board.

Rev David Spearly (Vice President)
David is a pastor on the staff of First United Methodist Church. Community outreach is one of his passions. Prior to becoming a pastor he served 31 years in education retiring in 1996 as the Superintendent of the Wellsboro Area School District. For the next eight years he served as the Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lycoming County. He served on the planning committee of Family Promise and has been a Board Member of the organization for two years. His focus area is recruitment of additional congregations.

Jeanette Kitchen (Treasurer)
Mrs. Kitchen is a native of Lycoming County Pennsylvania and currently serves as a Client Services Officer in the Selinsgrove and Williamsport Offices for FNB Wealth Management. Mrs. Kitchen is a graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology where she received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Banking and Finance. She is a graduate of Pennsylvania Bankers School of Trust and holds the Professional Designation of Certified Trust Financial Advisor. Mrs. Kitchen volunteers as a judge for Montgomery School Odyssey of the Mind Program.

Kelly Alexander
Kelly Alexander currently employed for Dept Public Welfare as a caseworker. Previous experience with community service groups in Jersey Shore, YMCA and Summer Recreation Program and Junior League of Williamsport. Her participation in Family Promise began in the planning stage before being able to start the program, invited to serve on the board by past President Kristie Hammaker. Served on Executive Director hiring committee and Development Committee, also volunteer Office Angel.

Jennifer Ayers
Jennifer has been a Staff Attorney with North Penn Legal Services since September of 2003. She is a member of Trinity Episcopal. She lives in Williamsport with her husband and two children.

Deb Bechtel
Deb Bechtel has been employed by Penn College, since 2005, as the Program Specialist in the Human Services Program. Her experience includes working with children and families in various human service settings. She has been on the Board of Directors since 2010.

Dorothy Gerring
Dorothy Gerring is an Associate Professor in the Architectural Technology Department at the Pennsylvania College of Technology where she has taught for 21 years. She is a member at St. Boniface. Areas of interest include architecture, design, sustainability, quilting and music. Dorothy joined Family Promise prior to opening and has served on the board since then.

Richard B. Greene
Richard is retired from a career in Health Care. Locally as the Vice President and Administrator of The Williamsport Hospital and Medical Center. He was the past President of Lycoming Visiting Nurse Association, District Charman West Branch Council, Boy Scouts of America (Recipient of Silver Beaver and St. George Awards, Member Order of the Arrow). He has been involved in coaching Brandon LLB and John Bower Basket Ball Youth. He is a past Board member of Lycoming Day Care Center and a lifetime member of the Amercan College of Health Care Executives. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa with with marketing major and Trinity University, San Antonio TX with Masters Degree in Health Care Administration.

Ed Mertes III
Ed works for Old Lycoming Township in the Road Maintenance Department and is the Outreach Ministry Coordinator at St. Paul-Calvary UMC. He volunteered to help during my church’s first host week in Spring 2010 and has been volunteering at host weeks ever since. He has been on the Family Promise Board of Directors since January 2011.

Yvonne Shenuski
Yvonne Shenuski retired from Lycoming County Assistance Office as Caseworker after 32 years. She has been active in First United Methodist Church for the past 11 years . She is CareGiver co-ordinator for MOPS and works closely with Youth and Kids Ministries in her church. She also holds local and district offices in the United Methodist Women. She serves as office angel and been on the Board of Directors for one year.
